THE WORLD ACCORDING TO TAB....

YES WE CAN REDUCE THE COST OF GASOLINE...READ ON....

Gas Prices

I received an email from a good friend of mine who is currently working in Alaska...He asked me to study the email and then send it to 10 of my close friends and they would each in turn send it to 10 of their close friends and so forth and so on until this email concept reached 10's of millions of Americans....

more on the email contents below....first understand this.....

The largest oil companies (Exxon-Mobil, Chevron and Conoco Phillips)
are making the largest profits in the history of their companies.

Gas prices are now in excess of $4.00 and wall street talking heads are predicting that excesses of $5.00 per gallon by mid summer are possible.

Can we average working stiff's do ANYTHING other than complaln ?????

THE ANSWER IS YES WE CAN.........UNITED WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Now to the email I received...

It suggested that we boycott the three major oil companies listed above
and not purchase anything from their outlets....no fuel, no beer, no cigaretts, no chips, no coffee...nothing....

The point was if we totally boycotted the big three on fuel prices they
would be forced to reduce the price of gas and therefore the others would
by necessity have to follow......

I liked the idea so I forwarded the email to about 50 people...and I will
not make purchases from these oil companies.....

Think what we could do if across this country everyone would do this....

There is power in numbers.....we need to start somewhere...left to the
government or the oil companies prices will continue to rise with no
end in sight......

What is your hell no point? 7,8,9,10,12,15 dollars per gallon????

Thanks for listening........hope you adopt this idea.....and pass it on......

You can just copy and paste the text above into your email and
send it throughout the world and multiply it........Just do it !

In an area as spread out as San Diego and with a poor public transportation system, how are people supposed to get to work, to school, and to other functions?

Whit...I did not indicate that you should not buy fuel...just don't buy
from the Big three....and see if we can make a difference....

Actually you have the basic idea correct. Hit them in the pocket book. find out who the core owner of a company is and stop buying from them and tell them what you want.
Fox news won a law suit based on a ruling by the judicial system that the News we see on Television does not have to be true since it is "entertainment". So what does that tell us?
In Southern Oregon a woman phone a local newspaper because of delivery problems. She was answered by a woman in Malaysia who was taking calls for delivery issues for the Rupert Murdock Fox owned newspaper in Grants Pass Oregon..
As for fuel. I put myself through the last two years of college working for a contractor at Chevron Refinery in California. The first so called oil crisis was contrived in the 70's. There was so much fuel they couldn't get rid of it. Oil Tankers were stacking up in the bay and burning crude just to keep the oil in their holds viscous.
The tank farms (on site storage) were at capacity and we burning aviation grade gasoline in the refinery equipment.
Eisenhower warned us but no one listened. Now corporations control much of the country, the politicians and the media.
Fascism is a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition..does it fit now?

don't buy the product and the cost will go down.
One solution can be:
Form local action groups in your building or neighborhood to deal with support, bulk purchases and transportation issues. turn off the TV and spend some time with your neighbors and lead an enriched life is the message.

Thanks for a stimulating blog posting

We tried something similar in Canada last year. We picked our own Canadian company, PetroCan, with the idea that if you could hurt one company, they would lower their prices and then the other companies would follow them down.

We didn't count on public apathy. There was no measurable decrease in the amount of gas sold. None.

So good luck getting people on board!

Anexplorer...It would definately have to be a world wide boycott to have an impact...but considering the alternative I believe it is worth a try...thanks for commenting....

Don't buy the stuff at those stations, anyway. Because it is tasteless overpriced junk. And try to hit the lowest price which is almost always places like Raceway and Royal Farms. Should the government step in and control prices. Good Lord, they would really rob us then. The real problem is that the military-industrial complex (Ike's phrase) contributes so much to politicians that they get all the breaks possible.

I've had similar thoughts but limited my boycott to CITGO at the outset. Did someone say Washington DC? They allowed the monopolies that got us to this place. Remember when there used to be all kinds of little mom & pop gas stations?
